I just gone through the sample menu of one year old indian babay..I think it is too much as it is advised to give food to the babay after every 2 hours and if i am not wrong atleast 60 % readers will agree to this fact that once u start feed the babay it takes more than half an hour and baby refuses to have next feed after 1.5 hour. and Doctors normally says that u shd not compel to kid to have feed ..without willingness...so what is the way out...
I must agree, and since i have posted the same, I must take resposibility for the same.
The sample menu was given to me a by a dietitian, and I suppose that while 2 hourly feeding is not possible, it probably does indicate that a variety of foods need to be given to the child.
The same menu with 3-4 hourly intervals would probably be more suited for an average indian baby
hi I'm Uma Sudhakar, mom of twins. the menu is too tedious & impractical, as sleeping hours are not considered & kids do not eat like adults as soon as the food is given to them. it takes atleast an hour to complete lunch for my kids.
Got to say that you are quite correct, that for many kids this schedule may be a bit too much.
The idea is to give small frequent feeds, and even 6 meals / day (2-3 milk based, and the rest non milk based) should be fine,
